Agent L

Agent L, originally Dr. Laurel Weaver, also called Elle, or just L, was an agent of the MiB. She was a beautiful but cynical former deputy medical examiner. She joined MiB after Agent K was neuralyzed, so she became Agent J's new partner but later became chief scientific officer and an assistant to Zed after Agent K came back to be J's partner. In the original film, she was played by Linda Fiorentino.

Biography[]

Life in the Morgue[]

Laurel Weaver is portrayed as a young and cynical deputy medical examiner. She has a fairly slender figure, and dark hair.

In the first film Laurel investigates the corpse of a man that Officer James Edwards chased. She finds that the man had two different sets of eyelids.

Later on, J, and K search the morgue to look for the bodies of aliens that were killed by Edgar the Bug. After this, she is neuralyzed.

Battle for the Galaxy[]

She is held captive by Edgar and visited by the agents again. She tries to alert J of the threat with subtle hints but he doesn't catch on until later. Laurel criticizes him for taking too long to get the hint, as he argues back before Edgar stops them. Edgar escapes while abducting Laurel in order to deter pursuit, she attempts to convince him to let her go, implies that Earth will declare war in response due to her being its ruler.

However, this only encourages him, since it meant ensuring that he can feed his family's mouths. Laurel compliments his looking out for family and managed to escape. She witnessed Jay and Kay then arrived and shot the ship down.

Squishing a Bug[]

After the Bug was shot in half, Laurel kills the rest of Edgar with Jay's Tri-Barrel Pulsar Blaster, after his upper torso tried to kill Kay and Jay while they were unaware. After Edgar is now completely destroyed, she remarks she is interested in their jobs. Afterwards, she is recruited by the MiB and becomes J's new partner Agent L.

Life in the Men in Black[]

After becoming an agent for the Men in Black, she was posted in the medical lab inside MiB headquarters becoming the chief scientific officer and an assistant to Zed. She also changed her hair from black to blonde.

In The Long Goodbye Syndrome when Jay is pursued by Skraaldian aliens she gives J a freezing weapon to defend himself from them after J accidentally blew one alien up by firing his noisy cricket at him.

In The Big Bad Bug Syndrome, L is pursued by another Bug named Edwin, Edgar's brother who wants revenge on her for Edgar's death. She is kidnapped again but when J and K arrive to rescue her all three are captured. They are later rescued by the Worms and a group of Bug bounty hunters. When the Bug bounty hunters need sugar to survive the Worms give them their sugared coffee. The bounty hunters fire at Edwin killing him just like how Edgar was killed.

In The Musical Chairs Syndrome her role as the chief scientific officer is later replaced by Dr. Zan'dozz Zeeltor because she wanted to move into field work.

She is also given a new partner an alien named Agent X, since J and K were partners again.

Resignation[]

In 2002 of Earth years, Agent L no longer desired to work with the Men in Black for unknown reasons. It is mentioned that she desired to return the New York City Morgue and resume her position as a Medical Examiner. Because of her desire to resign, Jay was required to neuralyze her due to MiB protocol.

Though Agent L does not appear in Men In Black II (as like Agent K, she apparently retired), she appears regularly in The Series.
